O Lord, O Lord, I know You hear my cry
Your love is lifting me above all the lies
No matter what I face this I know in time
You’ll take all that is wrong and make it right.

Anyone who has gone through any kind of trial understands the heart behind this song…when we cry out to God to take us out of the dark and above all the lies that surround us and, many times, permeate in us. And if we know who God is and rest in His promises, there is that hope of redemption to look forward to.

This song brings to mind what the Psalmist wrote in Psalm 39:12-13

“Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear to my cry;
hold not your peace at my tears!
For I am a sojourner with you,
a guest, like all my fathers.
Look away from me, that I may smile again,
before I depart and am no more!”

O’Lord is one of many beautiful songs in Lauren Daigle’s album “How Can It Be.”
