Hope’s Creed is a new high-energy collective of artists working together out of Calgary, Alberta, to create great music! Worship leaders Kristal Chalmers and Jessie Moore, as well as Worship Pastor David Klob have teamed up with songwriter Jayne Luy to create a cool sound that blends elements of gospel, rock, pop and a bit of country! Their first album, ‘Here I Am’, was released in early June. Highly original lyrics reflecting lives built on hope, combines with a powerful delivery to make for an outstanding message in word and sound!  Hope’s Creed hopes to bring their music to the Church and beyond, believing that great music has no limits.

The first single released from this album is “Samaritan Road: I Believe.” The parable of the Good Samaritan, told by Jesus in Luke 10, is one of the most graphic and poignant stories he taught through. It embodies everything we should live by – mercy, kindness, compassion, generosity, goodness, self-sacrifice… love. It’s so easy to pass by the people that make us uncomfortable on the street. Yet we are told not to forget about them – in fact we are told to work to meet their needs. The band hopes that Samaritan Road can become a declaration of Christian belief – yet I hope even more that we as Christians will work to live up to its’ standard – and that we would work to break the often negative stereotypes that Christians are labelled with – after decades of being labelled for what we are against, how about working so that we are labelled with what we are ‘for’ – mercy, kindness, compassion, generosity, goodness, self-sacrifice… love…
