“And you will know the truth; and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:32

Pause for a moment and reflect on the past couple of hours.

Are you physically and emotionally drained? Does thinking about your to-do list fill you with dread? Do you want to just disappear and run off to some quiet and peaceful place to find solace and escape your current responsibilities?

We all go through a season of being getting burnt out or being burdened by our current circumstances. Some of you may be tired of the blandness of routine, while others seek to get out of an unexpected problem or difficult situation. In light of this, the usual and most common response to problems is the desire to just drop everything and run away or ignore the dilemma. And a lot of times, when the unforeseen circumstance hits us in the face, we fail to see the greatness and power of God over that temporary difficulty.

But even though the fact that there will always be a mountain to climb, a hurdle to jump, and an obstacle to face, the truth of God’s loving grace always comes through. In spite of the fact that reality seems harsh and inescapable, God’s truth stands firm and remains unchanging. Fact may contradict with the truth, but the truth always conquers it. Ignoring the hardships in life will not solve it, but through trusting God to help you face the music and get through your present struggles, we are able to grow and move on.

In John 14:6, Jesus declares that He is “the way, the truth, and the life.” We cannot deny the existence of facts, problems, and difficulties, but Jesus equips us spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically for what He has set for us. He is the living truth, and in Him and through Him nothing is impossible.

In knowing this, the grip of reality no longer has authority nor power over us. As God’s children, let us hold firmly to the supremacy of God’s truth and declare its power. Let us allow Him to set us free.

Looking at your current situation now, in what ways can you incorporate God’s truth to conquer the seemingly impossible and irrefutable facts that stand in the way of your growth now? Have you experienced the truth that is Jesus Christ? Take a few minutes and pray for a deeper revelation of God’s truth in your life.
