Rivers and Robots is an Indie worship band from Manchester, UK. The band started out as a solo project of Jonathan Ogden with an aim of releasing worship songs with creative sound. In 2012, grew the project into a full live band, going on to record albums as a 4-piece. The band has since had the opportunity to lead worship and do mission trips in many different cities around the UK, Europe and Asia.

Discovery is the titular track to Rivers and Robots newest album, Discovery. The song was initially released on August 31 and is included in the album’s release this September 14.

Discovery is a great song that embodies our journey in discovering who God really is in our lives. The song is very reflective of God’s great attributes and how we need to always remember them.

The band shares that the song was written about the call to discover the knowledge of God and to spend our lives learning more about who He is.

Many of the verses in the song talk about a longing for the Lord and surrendering everything to Him. This is definitely heard in the lines such as “Help me remember that you’re in control,” and “Teach my soul to be always listening.”

The line that says “Your Word is a light unto my path” is a direct reference to the verse in Psalm 119:105.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105

Towards the end of the song, it acknowledges how we need the Lord and that truly it is only through Him can we live and be satisfied. The song is very inspirational and allows you to discover who God truly is.
