FOR THE BROKENHEARTED
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit”
Here and there we see broken hearts, broken relationships, broken society, and all of these just don’t seem to end on earth. The pain just goes on and on.
A friend has lost a loved one. Your neighbor across the street have decided to end their marriage. A cousin who worked hard his whole life just found out that he is sick and dying.
You feel like life has been unfair to you. You feel like you gave everything you could, but it seems like It’s not good enough. It breaks you. It kills your heart.
On the other hand, pain and brokenness has a bigger grip when we are in sin. Sin is described as anything that separates us from the perfect will of God; it is an act of rebellion towards God. When we break God’s law, we sin. We become independent of God instead of being dependent of Him. Anything that we do against His perfect will for us will break us.
Sin destroys our design -to be in likeness with our creator.
Sin crushes our soul – it leads to brokenness and even death.
However, the bible also talks about a promise of healing and restoration for the broken hearted. Jesus is the cure for our brokenness; in Him we can find healing.
“He was wounded for our rebellious acts. He was crushed for our sins. He was punished so that we could have peace, and we received healing from his wounds. ”
We are living in a fallen world, a place filled with broken hearts. But Jesus has come down from the comforts of heaven to reach out to us, to heal all our pain. He has suffered and died on the cross to take the sins of this world on Him. When Jesus resurrected, He overcame our death, suffering, curses and sickness. He came to redeem us from our fall. In Him, all things are new.
Jesus also promises that there will come a time that all the pain of this world will come to an end.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
If you are hurting right now, or if your heart is broken because of the sins of this world, allow Jesus to come into your heart and let Him heal you. He wants to restore you. He is reaching out to you now.
