And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
We’ve all heard the saying, “Worship is a lifestyle.” How then should we be living our lives?
Let’s take a step back and look at our lives. Why don’t we ask ourselves, “How am I living?” Am I worshipping or living in a way that He has called me to be?
Verse 17 gives a special encouragement and reminder to us that how we live our lives should be a constant state of worship to Him. It’s a 24-hour, down to the last detail, worship mode, ON kind of thing.
It is said, “Whatever we do.” What can be included in “whatever”? Everything can be included in whatever. How we live our life – our thoughts, words and actions, whether in school, at work, at home or even when we’re alone in our room –is included in “whatever.” All that we do can be turned into an act of worship!
What is your lifestyle? Is it something that you can honestly offer to God as your act of worship?
