He guides the humble to what is right and teaches them his way. Psalm 25:9

Willingness to be under God’s authority and guidance will help us grow spiritually. Humility has a lot do with this.

When we fail to be receptive, our hearts get corrupted. Learning from King Rehoboam in 2 Chronicles 12: 14, the Bible says, “He did evil because he had not set his heart on seeking the LORD.” It is dangerous when we let pride reign in our hearts and simply stop persevering in our faith. When our hearts fail to seek Him, we are leaving the door open for the defeated Enemy to keep us away from Himself. Usually, he (the Enemy) entices us with “good” so we won’t see the “best”.

Most of the time our greatest struggle is about “Good vs. God”!

The Word encourages us to look to the LORD and His strength and seek his face always (1 Chronicles 16:11). When we strive to humble our hearts before God, He promises to guide us to what is right and teach us His ways (Psalm 25:9). Furthermore, God says in Isaiah 66:2-3, “I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word. But those who choose their own ways, delighting in their sins are cursed.

How are you humbling yourself before God? Are there areas in your life that you still need to surrender? Talk to Him in prayer! Our greatest motivation to persevere in faith with humility is the certainty of meeting Christ half-way as we seek Him.
